Reverend Dr. Charles William Dockett was born the 10th child to the late Sidney E. and Sarah H. Dockett. He is a native of Prince George’s County, Maryland, and a graduate of Frederick Sasscer High School in Upper Marlboro. In 1969, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps, where he served in Okinawa, Philippians, Hong Kong, Main Land Japan and Vietnam.
In 1971, after accepting the Lord as his savior, he joined the Free Hope Baptist Church, where he served as Chairman of the Trustee and Deacon Board, Sunday School Teacher and many other capacities.
In 1975, he was called by God into the Gospel Ministry, and was licensed by Free Hope Missionary Baptist Church in Bladensburg, Maryland under the late Rev. Arthur D. Walls. In 1978, he was ordained and called to Pastor the Mt. Gideon Baptist Church where he served for three years.
In 1982, he joined The New Macedonia Baptist Church serving as Assistant to the Pastor and was actively involved in many other ministries of the church. In 1993, he was called to Pastor at the Free Hope Baptist Church in Bladensburg, Maryland, where he faithfully served for four years. He was most instrumental in initiating the Port Town Revitalization Project and Restoration of this Historical Church.
Pastor Dockett is a graduate of the Baptist Theological Seminary, where he received degrees in Pastoral and Biblical Studies.
In July 2001, Dr. Dockett was led by the Lord to start and organize a new ministry in the Bladensburg area. After much prayer and preparation the Kingdom Missionary Baptist Church was started.
Pastor Dockett was employed by the US Department of Defense as a Utility Systems Operations Supervisor at the Defense Intelligence Analysis Center, Bolling AFB, Washington DC and retired with 33 years of dedicated Federal Service. He currently works for WSI as a Lead Operating Engineer. Rev. Dockett is married to Dr. Margaret D. Dockett, a faithful, loving and supportive companion in the ministry; and he is the father of three sons; Aaron, Alvin and the late Charles L. He is also the proud grandfather of three grandchildren; Drevian, Sydney and Kendall.
